Leonard’s Letters
We had a most inspiring Conference at Wroxall. The positive reports and the message from Oliver Raper served to impact the vision for the future.
We will endeavour to fix the next date soon, please diary it, it is the one day a year that shows commitment and Oneness.
With me handing the role of Senior Pastor of Renewal to Jonny Lee next March, I will be able to spend time inspiring growth in the UK. Our overseas representation is immense; we must, however, concentrate on the growth locally.
Let me remind you again: your presence as part of your local ‘Churches Together’ will help develop the visibility of the Order.
I know that we are all aware of the extreme pressure that Brexit is placing on politicians and population alike. The Christian Church must give considerable prayer covering for the future of our Nation.
Regardless of your personal preference, we are facing challenging times, which affect our congregations, ministries, and social actions.
Yet, this is nothing new. Our early Celtic brothers and sisters faced political and religious pressures that solidified their faith. In this confused society, we also need to maintain prayer and a lifestyle that gives hope to a dysfunctional community.
I would like to lead a short 2/3 day pilgrimage to Lindisfarne in the Spring of 2019. We can seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and develop our friendship.
As mentioned, I was invited 7 years ago to fellowship with the Brothers of St Leonard at the Collegiate Church of St Leonard de Noblat (Leonard’s home town and the resting place of his earthly remains) near Limoges, France. I will be visiting with Canon Dave.
I believe that as each member of the Order displays and manifests our lifestyle and core values, we will become a valued part of the Church community in the U.K.
