Wherever possible, the Kindle versions of the works are added. The Kindle reading app is available, free, for Apple, Android, PC and Mac here.
When you click the link next to the book you would like, it will download to your device. Click on the downloaded file and it will open automatically within your Kindle library.
Real-life Libraries we recommend for study
Revd Canon Dave Cooper studying at Gladstones Library
Gladstones Library in Flintshire, Wales (near Chester) contains over 150,000 books, journals and publications, largely within its core subject of theology.
It is open to the public for reference and study purposes. It is a silent library and works can be ordered and reserved in advance. It is the only library in the UK with accommodation, so is useful for immersive study – with evening access for residents.
The Order encourages members to pursue continued study – whether formally, academically, vocationally or privately – as part of its lifestyle.
Gladstones Library
I have utilised the catalogue at Gladstone’s extensively and was able to access out of print works that provided great depth to my research. It’s a wonderful place; serene and highly conducive to study!

The Librarian
Mandy Cooper
Mandy is OSL’s administrator and librarian. She curates and collates all of the media resources for the library and is the point of contact for any library requests or comments. If there are any texts that you would like to see included, or if there are any issues with downloading materials, please email Mandy at academia@orderofstleonard.org

Most of the works are used by permission of Project Gutenberg ™ . The full Project Gutenberg ™ license can be viewed here. They are free for distribution and you are welcome to use these for any purpose – including distributing them for free yourself (for instance to your church members or your own students). If you wish to include them on your own website, please embed them separately (please don’t link to our site, as this incurs bandwidth for us and will be blocked). If you wish to use Project Gutenberg ™ works for any commercial purposes, please review the license for terms. The only exception is the category OSL Members’ Publications’ – within which the original authors have given permission for the Kindle downloads to be shared with OSL members only, free of charge. There are no further distribution rights with these publications.
Study and Research
Within the Academia courses and study programmes we may refer to particular texts for additional reading. Where such are available in the public domain we will add them to the Academia library and link to them from the course itself.
