The Order of St Leonard, in its modern form, was founded in 2009 AD, however its foundations stretch right back to the 5th Century in Haute-Vienne, France; then to 1149 AD and a small town in Wawickshire, the son of the local Lord, a journey to the crusades and a miraculous liberation from captivity.
What followed was the building of a monastery, a church, signs and wonders – the Reformation, a reallocation and, finally, an opening once more of the old wells. Join us, as Bishop Tony Carr OSL (left) takes us on this historic journey, spanning over fifteen hundred years, as we connect the old wells with our current journey.
OSL’s history is vast – but the interconnections are extraordinary and the narrative is as fascinating as it is historic. The various aspects of the history have been separated, below, to allow for individual reading.
